So this is the first time i'm writing an entry for the southpool blog.
I'm the only foreigner on the team. I'm from France but was asked to
write in english so the most people could understand what i'm talking about.
Obviously i cannot write in japanese, I can't barely speak it in the first place.
Anyway since i can't write or read japanese i have almost no idea of
what the previous entries were about. Well, i have a rough
understanding of what it was about but still, the devil lies in the details as one
should know. Especially when it comes to writing a blog about a futsal team.
Anyway i'm here to talk about the 4th of February. It was a nice but
cold day. The last time i played it was snowing outside though so i'm
not going to complain.
First let me introduce the teams, Codino is Nodachi's other team. If i
remember correctly they are playing together since highschool.
Codino are a hard team to play. They're fast and obviously they've been
around each other for quite some time now,so their team play is pretty tight.
On the southpool side there were 11 people divided in two teams, red
and yellow. Yellow was composed of the people that are going to do the
taikai next week. Red team was obviously all the rest.
Yellow was practicing with the diamond shaped (so it's a 1-2-1)
formation that we're using in taikai now.
Codino was mainly playing on 2-2 with high pressure.
The good thing when playing against a team like Codino is that you
have to sharpen up and open your eyes, unless you want the score to
look like a rugby game.
It's a bad thing for me though, since I'm nowhere near the level
required. I was like the crying trumpet in the intro of Fuji Keiko's
Shinjuku no Onna which you can listen to on the radio on the right.
God, this trumpet is plain pathetic, maybe i'm being too hard on myself.
Codino pretty much dominated at first then, we got back on our feet
and started winning. The last few games were quite impressive.
Southpool is the kind of team that warms up game after game. By the
end of the 3 hours everyone was playing pretty fast. Of course by that
time all the little strength i had in my legs had been drained so i
was just hanging around like a scarecrow.
3 hours of futsal can really put you on your knees. Since there were
only three teams it was basically 8 minutes rest for 16 minutes play.
My coal-filled lungs are still not used to it.
All in all i think it was a great practice.
Specially for the guys that are going to the taikai in Hachimayama
next week. They had the opportunity to tighten the formation up and
really see it working against a tough opponent. Pretty soon we're
going to throw diamonds in the air Roc-a-fella style.
It will go well with the uniform.
On another topic i'm going to update the playlist on the radio soon.
There will be a tune from The Drones an australian band which last
album "Wait Long By the River and the Bodies of Your Enemies Will
Float By" is a killer drunken-pirate-rock n'roll record.
Ja ne !
